Post Traction Nightmare

I hate this..
Just got time last night to drive my car actually for the first time with all the new mods..I have been to busy lately with school to drive it. The thing is a nightmare. I have all stock suspension. Stock turbines with 235/70/15 Hoosier GT's. All I do is sit and spin through 1 and 2nd gear. Even though I cant go anywhere it still sounds meaner than hell..Well my question is what is a CHEAP way to get some traction to the ground.

if you're looking to stay cheap, then try a set of the factory five control arms, get the uppers and lowers. also, next time you buy tires get something a lil wider, at least a 245. no fun spending all your money to make power and then not go anywhere is it?

Try not flooring it

With those mods thats no surprise, and you sound upset over it.....

Get some nice sticky tires and let it rip...if you think you're gonna come out of the hole at 5 grand on the street with your average street tire you better open your eyes.....you got a nice setup there

im pretty sure you can get the pair for about $250, thats without tax and shipping though. obviously these arent the highest quality arms out there, but the price to performance ratio is pretty nice, and you said you need inexpensive solutions. check MM&FF for their advertisements. hope this helps you, nick

If you're talking about the slapper bar type traction bars, I would not recommend them on a street car. I had the Lakewoods on my 87LX (100shot) and they definitely helped traction, but they used to hit the ground alot going over big bumps or uneven surfaces. This eventually resulted in the brake limiter hangers being smashed up against the unibody and not allowing the bars to move like they should.
The lift bars that they make that replace your stock control arms are better for the street, but I still was not that impressed with them on my friend's Cobra.

hate to break it to you, but all those mods are useless if you cant get it to the floor. First, those rims should be able to hold a 235 or 245/ 60, next, do you have posi?. Dont skimp on suspension. Save some money. SSM's arent cheap, but they're among the best.. I just finished my suspension. SSM lowers and uppers, welded torque boxes, lakewood 50/50 shocks, 70/30 struts and some heavy duty sway bars front and rear and Eidbach launch kit( springs) Also, what gear ratio are you running?

first thing with traction troubles is to make sure u have a good tire on the car before anything else and thet should help somewhat, but qith the torque that 347 is making i would be willing to bet you will need some good suspecions pieces to help also.

B.T.W 2 thing i saw in your mods got my attention. 1. why are you running a cobra computer?? 2. are you running stock 302 intake that has been extrude honed and gt-40 head that are ported and polished??

A good combo on tires would be 225/55s up front and 245 or 255/50s out back. If you can afford it, get some Mickey Thompson ET Streets and you will be able to launch at 4000 easy.
