Why Doesn't My Temp Drop? - Help!
hey people, whats up?
I got a 1998 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L Convertible I dont know if i did something wrong, but after i installed a 180 deg thermostat, the engine temperature didnt not seem to drop at all. at first i thought its because i was in idle and the fan doesnt turn on untill 195 degrees(as far as i know), so i did some driving on the freeway. but the engine temperature does NOT seem to go down, it feels like i have never installed a low temp thermostat. I even went with a 160 deg, didnt help either i KNOW how a thermostat looks like, and i DO KNOW how to install it, I also KNOW that my temp gauge is working properly. the only thing that I dont know is: "WHY DOESN'T MY TEMP DROP?" - is there another thermostat in the cooling system? - does the computer not allow the temp to be below the 190-195 deg range? - is my cooling system busted? i dont know what the problem could be, so please, any help would be appreciated, thanks, Avdo |
