Tranny going, going, gone
My 95 GT with an AOD is on its last leg. I have flares between shifts, cool noises and a few other things. I already knew I was going to need a new one to begin with so its finally time. My question is do I rebuild it myself, Ive done trannies before, or buy a totally new one? Either way who has good parts and rebuilt trannies? Oh ya, How much of the shifting is controled by the computer vs. the valve body?

From my past experiaces w/ an AOD..(3 in 6 years on a mid-14 car)
I seriously advise you to consider a t-5 or c-4 swap.... I wish i did the first time...AOD parts are extremely expensive...sun gears are about $250 converters are $400-$500 clutch packs are about $200 you will have at minimum a $1000 bill IF you do the rebuild yourself. more like 2 grand if you take it in...and it will brake again, very soon. ------------------ 4.10's,long tubes & 75 shot...Goes 12.50's Check it out at http://www.burnouts.webprovider.com |
