Ok, i was wondering if the T5 out of a 1987-95 would bolt right upto a 69-74 351 windsor block.?

stang_racer20 10-07-2003 11:17 PM

i believe so, but you would need a different bell housing

7SecYaRight 10-07-2003 11:20 PM

ok, any ideas which one i would need?

stang_racer20 10-07-2003 11:33 PM

any bellhousing from a 351W should work just fine

7SecYaRight 10-07-2003 11:35 PM

oh, ok. cool.

stang_racer20 10-07-2003 11:37 PM

that is any bellhousing from a 351W originally equipped with a t-5

7SecYaRight 10-07-2003 11:55 PM

that may proove to be a very difficult find

stang_racer20 10-08-2003 12:10 AM

try a salvage yard or go to a local swap meet and check it out. otherwise post a wanted thread in the for sale section on this site and see what people have!

did the ford trucks come with a t5? cause if so, i could probably find a bellhousing from a truck for the transplant.

stang_racer20 10-08-2003 12:22 AM

are you talkin old ford trucks, im pretty sure then no. all older ford trucks came with a 4-speed manual as the only option as I can remember. If you were thinking new trucks, i dont know then.

7SecYaRight 10-08-2003 12:29 AM

yeah, im thinking early 90's trucks

Try this link:

It tells you that a 351 and T-5 are no problem with a 302 bellhousing.

It'd probably be better to just buy a new one. Most of them come with weights that you can bolt on to make it a 28 or 50 oz imbalance. A friend of mine has a brand new aluminum one that he doesnt need. Let me know if you are interested.
