![]() Went overboard on the engine (should be 425+), just about out of race car cash. Anybody put over 400 hp on a T5 & make it down the track? I've got a 2.95 gear trans. I've put over 350 hp on a 100K+ mile junkyard unit numerous times with out breaking it but I really hate to turn a good unit to crumbs. If you've got over 400 hp what manual trans are you running? I've seen pro shifted Tremecs but they suck for street driving. The jerrico is the same way unless you get the sliders & have 3 grand burning a hole in your pocket.

![]() Horsepower really doesn't kill your trans, torque is what kills it. For about 425 ft. lbs, a Tremec 3560 should fit you well, if you want to go the next step up, then there is the Tremec TKO or TKO II with upgraded input/output shaft. Bad thing about going with a trans like that is that you have to change the clutch as well. With 3 grand you shouldn't have a problem doing all that though. ~Brian
