Question Tremec owners please help

Is anyone using automatic transmission fluid in their Tremec? The GM syncromesh stuff is pretty expensive and i have synthetic automatic transmission fluid here. I am not exactly sure what the gm synchromesh transmission fluid is either. is it a 75-90 weight gear oil. But that doesn't make sensee because tremec's other recommendation is dexron IIE or mercon.

I would not use it. Get the syncromesh or the redline fluid.

Hmmmm... Did you not just spend well over $1000 on a tranny? Why would you skimp on something as small as tranny fluid?

It's not like tranny fluid is something you change every 3000mi like oil.

I'd spend a few bucks extra for piece of mind myself, or for anything that would make my tranny better. I run Mobil 1 synthetic in my T-5, all it called for was Dextron Mercron III.

The GM Syncromesh is a must, anything else and you are at risk for problems.

Ditto on the GM Synchromesh. It's a small price to pay to be sure you have the right stuff.
