![]() Ok, I may be in a bad situation here. I'm stuck in Toronto and my mustang and my wife are 2100 miles away in Edmonton.
Just before I came to Toronto and after installed a custom chip in my stang, I noticed that the oil level was low one morning on my way to work. I added a quart and went on my way. It was maybe 800 to 1200 miles after an oil change (near the end of an oil change period I normally add on quart). Now my wife tells me that late the other night the Low oil light came on and that there was oil just on the edge of the dip stick. She topped up with a quart of oil and away she goes. That would be 2 quarts of oil over just about 5000 km's (3000 miles). I have justed noticed that this has happened after I put in the chip. I'm hoping that the oil consumption is a little higher due to the advancement in timing. What do you guys think? If it was a head gasket the coolant would be going to the oil pan, so I don't think it's a head gasket. My wife parks on a level cement driveway and she says absolutely nothing leaks from the car. I am nervous because I've got to make a drive from Northern Alberta, Canada to Dallas Texas at the end of June. By the time I get to Edmonton I will have to leave for Dallas and have no time to work on the car. I hope that it is just burning a little extra oil. (There is not noticeable blue smoke). Any Idea's?!? ------------------ Driving: 1998 F-150 Far way in Edmonton==> ![]() 1995 Mustang GT |
