on the tensioner is an arrow that show which way to lift to to release the tensioner. counterclockwise as your standing in front facing engine.

Where in florida are you??

I'm just going to elaborate on the last post... the tensioner has a HEX head bolt on it... get a ratchet.. or a wrench.. though the socket givesmove clearance... anyway... get it on there and pull it down counter clock wise... it helps to have someone pull the belt off while you take the tension off... then let it up slowly.. dont just let go... it's not hard or anything... you'll get it... it's simple enough.. the altenator is cake too.. just unplug it and unbolt it... it'd be a good idea to disconnect the negative battery cable while you're at it... just to be safe...
