I'm in the middle of a swap to a 393 windsor at the moment. I'm keeping the vortech s trim that i had with the 302 by hopefully getting a bracket from alternative auto. I'm going with afr 185 heads. But i think for $4,000 you could put a pretty healthy 351 in it and run very good times. I have no idea what kind of times to expect from the blown 393 with 9:1 compression, but i didn't want to just tell all the guys that it has the old 302 or 347 in it. i wanted to be able to say it's a 393. Besides..... the 351 windsor block is stronger than a factory 302 block. that's a lot of the reason i decided to go windsor. If your serious about going fast i would look into swapping in a 351. It shouldn't be that tough with an aftermarket oil pan and 351 swap headers and the other misc. stuff. for $4000 i think it could be done.
