They work just fine with a 302. You may run into clearance issues when running a Windsor.

I have the D&D set-up
As for bolting it up everything was great except for one lower K-member mount that was very close. It took just a dremmel to match it up. I think it was due to my car though. I really like the complete package(mine is for road race). The main problems I had were with the D&D hardware, which some just didn't fit and other parts were not threaded correctly. I had to drill to get a bolt through for the steer rack. Not a big deal but for the cost of the package you shouldn't have to spend $5 more.
I have a built 351w to go in but have not done the installation yet. I will let you know how it goes. Overall I really like the system. |

Havent got any numbers yet due an electrical fire that trashed my dash and just about all my wiring, only had 50 miles on the motor at the time of the inferno.Hope to have it up and running by summer. The mishap just gives me an excuse to put more into the car.I can say this much though, before I did the bore and stroke I ran just above mid to upper twelves and that was before the higher stall converter was put in,the trans had the high ratio gear set then and I can safely say it did quite well.Even a little scary when it hooked up.

I only had to grind/shim a little for my long tubes to clear, otherwise it bolted right in for me!

i have personally installed 2 of these d+d k- members ,
in my opinion they didnt fit well at all, the problem lies in the rear bolt hole pads there are 2 on each side in rear, the holes are already elongated for install but one on each side wasnt even close, ( required slightly heating and bending of tab to line up properly) i belive there are better quality components for the money, i have installed one version from ss machne company fit real well and had a removable center section for oil pan access, in my opinion i would look into one of the ss machine components d+d part looks nice, but i belive something is going on w/ these as far as shipping damage ect?? gary z |
