Underhood mat
Can the underhood mat -- which I assume is for noise control -- be removed without any negative effects?
|
Yes it can, it's just a dust collector anyway.
|
Alright, but if the paint on my hood bubbles, it's your ***. :D

Underhood insulation mat
Jeb:
Sure, it can be removed but it isn't pretty underneath and you'll get more engine noise coming through. Not much chance of paint problems with it removed. Your call here. |

It's an American V8. It's supposed to be noisy. :D Thanks for the advice, guys. |
Pulled mine out last year. Haven't had any paint problems, but it is fugly under there. I used a razor to cut out the exposed goo between the hood panels and repainted those spots, looks great now.

nothing but a dust mop
took mine off 3 days after i bought my notch, that was 11 yrs ago
and the motor and hood still look like bran new ;) |
I yanked it right after dinner.
IMHO, I think it looks a lot better. I bought a notch because they're the lightest and stiffest 'Stangs. I like the taut, purposeful look of the car. The exposed hood crossmembers just make it look like the weight is pared down to the absolute minimum. Plus, how often do I have the hood open? ;) |
you go boy
Jeb_Bush_2000 i like your attitude !
you have the right car for you !!! IN JOYMENT SALUTE ;) |
