Post upper intake plenum volume?

I was wondering if it would be beneficial to weld an extra piece onto the stock uppper plenum to give it more volume? I plan on running 2 turbos in the near future. I have the opportunity and the equiptment to do this, I thought I saw this done on a cobra intake in one magazine. Also would doing this move the powerband up or down? THANKS

The intake is rpm tuned by runner length, and adding more runner length will move the powerband down.
