Valve cover clearance with 1.6 RR on TFS heads
Ok, I am sure this has been asked a thousand times but what do I need to do to get the stock valve covers to clear the rocker arms, I heard I have to grind but where? They are stud mount rockers on TFS heads. Also if I have to use aftermarket valve covers does anyone have a recomendation (hopefully resonably cost effective I was thinking trick flow valve covers). Thanks.

I just had to buy new valve covers today. I went with the Comp valve covers, only $59.00
and was told they would seal great. They come in blue, black, red, yellow, and green. |

I use the Motorsport aluminum ones. Those plastic colored valve covers look a little corny in my opinion.
To make the stock ones work you would have to install them and let the car run tapping away, then take them off and look for the shiny spots where they were hitting. Kinda crude though. ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT 11.8 @ 123 (7/14/01) 1992 BadAzz Wrangler 1993 Explorer |
