![]() I decided to say ***** buying a heads/cam/intake combo for right now and just go straight to a supercharger that I'll be able to afford in about a month. I just have a few question before i start doing anything. Which is better..Paxton Novi 1000, Vortech sc-trim, or a 9psi Powerdyne??? Which are basically the superchargers that I'l be able to afford. Also...the Vortech and the Paxton come with new feul pumps but will I have to change the injectors? And last but not least is that I want to get a cobra intake manifold in the future, will this be a factor in what supercharger I can get??? Thanks for the help guys...i just want to go fast.

![]() The Vortech SQ comes setup for 7-8lbs.
The standard kit comes with an in-line t-rex fp. I customized my kit by dropping the t-rex and fmu, going with a Johnson motorsports chip for my A3M and 42lb injectors based on Tony Gonyan's recommendation from Hocus Pocus . This is my daily driver and detonation is not an option. But the Vortech Kit is very nice, well packaged with parts bundled together so you can easily inventory them. Here are the installation instructions so you can get an idea of what is entailed: http://users.net66.com/~sckiddoo/4fa218im.pdf

![]() My vote would be the Vortech as well. Running a basically stock engine, try to keep the boost below 8 lbs, and run an FMU and you will be O.K. Like Hozer said though, ideally though you would want to ditch the FMU in favour of larger injectors and a good tune.

![]() I'd go with either the Novi or the Vortech. But I'd ditch the FMU and go with a set of 42lb/hr injectors and a 255lph intake pump and have it dyno-tuned.

![]() Do alot of research on www.superchargerhelp.com
Ditch the FMU and run bigger injectors and fuel pump.

![]() There is nothing wrong with a FMU. I fully expect to make around 425 with a FMU in place. Granted, it will be gone first chance I get, but it does not have to be. Just make sure you put it on correctly
![]() ![]() I vote Novi, it would prolly be louder than the SQ, and I like noisy parts ![]()

![]() The Novi's are a little quieter. They have helical cut gears instead of straight cut (like the old Vortech's used to have). A Novi 1k compared to a SC-Trim, I think the sounds would be similar.....the Vortech might be a tad louder.
The FMU is nothing but a 'band-aid' for the fuel system. IMO, ditch it and get some 42# injectors and a 255lph in-tank. If you decide on keeping the FMU and running it for a little while, there is an excelent thread on www.superchargerhelp.com about making your FMU fully adjustable . Good Luck!

![]() I would lean towards the Paxton since it comes with the discharge tube. I wouldn't be jumping up to 42# injectors, those are too much on a stock engine and you might run into driveability problems and/or starting problems. 30's are plenty for that combo. But I would definitely ditch the crappy FMU...
