Angry Warning tone?

I just bought a 90 LX and when I turn on the car, there is a really loud beeping coming from behind the dash somewhere. It used to be just when I turned the car on but lately, its been coming on more and more when I'm driving. It seems to always happen when I've been driving for a while, say half an hour and then I slow down or come to a stop. Its a slow beeping that's very loud. I took out my center console yesterday to see if I could find out what it was but I can't seem to figure out where its coming from.

Could this be a warning tone or something? It seems to happen more when its hot out.

Please, this thing is driving me insane.

Thanks

Geoff

Does your car have an alarm or auto theft device?

The car used to have an alarm and I just found the box today. I took it out and the beeping is still there. Could it be a warning for my airbag. The car was hit slightly in the front and the bag had gone off and I haven't put another one in yet. My airbag light isn't on though.

Does anyone know what that blue box behind the center vents is? It seems like its coming from there but it looks like a factory piece.

It's gotta be the airbag. If the beep sounds like the beep when the key is in the ignition, it's a warning the airbag needs servicing. Call a Ford dealer and ask them.
