Question Weird Shifting problem after installing a Tri-Ax shifter ??

I just installed a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter into my 89 5.0 Mustang today.

I installed it per Steeda's Instruction sheet. Set the Stop Bolts correctly etc...

When I try to shift from 1-2 or 3-4 while accellerating, the tranny wants to downshift back into 1st gear!

If I shift while driving easy, all the gears engage just fine.

(FYI, the transmission was working just fine with the OEM crappy shifter.)

What could be going on here ??
