Weld racing rims
Right now I can geta set of used 15" weld drag lites with tires ready to go for about $500 maybe a lil less but these have the skinnies, bike tires, whatever you call it but I wanna pick them up for my car but would they be to dangerous for daily driving , because for that price I cant pass it up.

btw there chrome with no rust

Welds
I drive mine everyday and I have never had a problem. The front wheels lock up pretty easily under heavy braking. $500 sounds quite expensive for the chrome ones.

$500 sounds a little high to me too. You could buy a brand new set of Welds for $500 from Summit. Unless the tires are like brand new I would take a pass or offer less.
You have to make sure you use the right lug nuts with them, some people dont and the rims end up splitting, especially with the pro-stars. I know several guys who drive on the street with them. |
Just out of curiosity, what lug nut is the right lug nut?

Too much money. Plus, after this happened to my ex, I'll never buy used Welds again:

By any chance are those weld's your looking at on E-bay? I could have sworn I say what your describing for about the same price there. I would also say its too much, better to buy new.
|
Thanks guys no its not on ebay just at a local parts warehouse around where I live.
|
$500 does seem a little steep, I guess welds would be allright for daily driving unless you have slicks, that would suck for daily driving :p
|
I personally wouldn't drive with skinnies on the front of a daily driver, but to each his own I guess.
Welds are great looking wheel, but are a total pain in the *** to keep looking nice and clean, especially on a daily driven car. I wouldn't offer the guy more than $400 for the set. Merry Christmas everyone -drew |

However, if you are going to get draglites then get the good ones which are polished aluminum and light as hell. You will have to polish them, but not very often. |
i work at a carwash, and i found the best way to clean 'em is to acid clean them once every 2 weeks or so, but dont brush them, just spray the acid on until it whitens up, than spray off immediatly. after that use a polishing agent (i use never-dull) and give them a good polish!
they look great all the time! |
I drive mine everyday, i just be careful with hard braking and turns, also, the directions say not to use acids or caustic cleaners, just warm soapy water is good, i hate that the lug washers rust up, but i like my welds, just check closely for cracks if used.
btw, the front skinnies i use are a volkswagen radial, they steer pretty good for the size, but corner carving is out the door. |
