Hey LX! Sorry i don't have an answer for you. But i was wondering if you had to remove the quad shocks to fit 10 slicks in back. I want to have a pair of ET streets for the track and summer night cruising, but dont want to mess with the suspension. Is it possible to run 10 inch slicks(mounted on 8.5 inch wheels) Out back with stock suspension? If so what backspacing am i looking at? Light Em Up!!

yea you can mount 10" slicks on stock wheels..i will be putting these slicks on 10 holes till i can afford another pair of draglights for them..yes to answer your question we ran the welds on my buddies car with those slicks with no problem and he had quads..i dont have quads on the car they are now..if you need an extra 1/2" or so clearance then rotate the quads upsidedown..if not then get upper and lower control arms and delete the quads..the only reason ford put quads in thier cars is cuz the made the control arms 2 flimsly and they flex with makes the rear end bind witch in return creates wheel hop..

275s are approx. 11"s. You probably have 8" draglites, thats what most people have. I have 265s on my draglites, 275s will fit but I've heard you need to roll the inner fender lip. Hmm.. what backspacing do you have(if you know)?
You can go to tirerack and they give specs on the tires, but I can tell you that you may have a problem getting those 275/50/16s to hold any air pressure on those rims (sorry, I couldn't resist) |
