Went to track sunday discovered problem
I took my 95 GT to the track sunday and met the previous owner, The guy said he put a B 303 cam in it it went 14.28@94 mph with a 2.14 60 ft but will not make any power past 4500 RPM.
I go through the traps at 5200 RPM in 4th gear and the car is on its face will my E303 help that problem??. Now my other big problem I am getting a vibration from 65+ mph and a squealing noise from the trans in 5th gear only when i run it hard it squeals. What T-5 will fit to replace this one are they all the same??? These are my mods 4.10 gears, Ram air, B-303 cem soon to be replaced with E-303, underdrives, MSD distributor, Hypertech chip,BBK shorty Headers,BBK offroad H pipe,Flowmaster 2 chamber exhaust sys. |

The vibration is normal after alot of people have gears installed. Try taking off the driveshaft and roatating it 180 degrees, if that doesn't work then an aluminuim one usually cures it.

I'm interested in a cam... but I'm not too well versed in the specifics of different ones. Would love to chat with you about it and make sure its good for my combo.

The reason your car lays down at 4700 is the heads and intake. I'm running low 14's with the stock cam and Edelbrock Performer 5.0 heads and intake. REALLY woke it up over 4500.

I checked my old motorsport catalog (96). It states the peak torque to hp rpms as: B303 3300 to 5100, E303 2500 to 5500, F303 2800 to 6,000, X303 3500 to 6500. Going by those figures yes the e cam should pull higher. The B303 actually has more aggressive duration figures than the E303, probably makes more power but in a narrower band. Hope this helps a little.

After rereading your post, you said your car is falling flat on its face past 4500. Might consider installing new valve springs. Do you know if they are original? Other things can also cause your motor to fall flat. Maybe fuel pressure or restricted exhaust...still running cats? The B303 should pull hard up to 5100! Check elsewhere for problem if its falling flat short of that.

I went straight from a stock cam to an E303, so I don't know what the B is like. All I know is that I'm extremely happy with the E. I can/usually shift around 5500-6500 and it still feels like it's got more to give. With the 4.10's, you won't feel any loss in low end power.
