![]() well i got a hold of Cobra brakes for my 90. 2 questions. 1, the spindles are 94 w/abs, does this make a difference than the non-ABS? does it make the wheel sit out farther? i know about using only 94-95 spindles only for a fox, just need to know if the ABS ring makes any difference. the other question, has anybody personally done this? i have read many sites that people who have, even with pics, but never get to send messages and get replies as i do on here! thanks

![]() I used Mark VII rotors with ABS rings on them for my 87GT 5 lug conversion. Worked fine. I don't see why the ABS spindles would have anything to do with the setup.

![]() I used the M2300K brakes on my 1989. I started with the 1995 spindles, then converted to the 1996 spindles for better ackerman...
The ABS ring was removed when I redrilled the front hubs for bigger studs. See Griggs intall photos off my homepage.

![]() It will not interfear with anything...if the wire is still dangling...just cut it or remove it. The ring will have no adverse effect. I am using the 96+ spindles for the same reason listed above. Except I will be using the 99+ pbr dual piston calipers instead of the cobra's.

![]() im in the prosess of putting the spindles on my 92 off a 94 is it just me or is the spindle not a direct fit i know about putting the spacer on the lower balljoint but it seems to me as though there is not enough distance between the lower balljoint and the strut i cant seem to get the spindle down far enough on the balljoint and it is next to impossible for me to get both bolts for the strut through the spindle i got one side but i cant seem to get the othe no matter what i do i can only get one to line up i walked away ran out of paitence
should i remove the springs would that make it easier to put the spindles on or is there something i dont know please help

![]() I have coilovers on mine and that made it very easy for me. You just have to manipulate the height of the arm with a jack and move the spindle around tell you get it just right. I wouldn't bolt up the tie rod tell the strut is bolted. This will allow you to move the spindle around more. I plan on having a step by step photo chart on my site when I get around to it for the 5 lug conversion.

![]() I only put two in mine. The washers I found were extra thick. I think you should be fine. Do you have caster camber plates? I used an impact to tighten the ball joint nut and it's pretty tight. As tight as I felt comfortable making it. I have stripped those things out before so I didn't want to go that far. It almost takes two people to get those holes lined up. I couldn't imagine doing it without coilovers. How are you doing the rear?

![]() i was told for the fox body to use 94-95 spindles only cause the track with on the 96 and up is wider making the wheels stick out farther which means rolling the lip on the fender. well i got the spindles, and you guys are right, no problems that i can see. Darius, should i use the 96 and up? what is the problem, if any, using the 94-95's? oh and Chatcher. in my personal opinion and experience, i dont believe in using washers to solve a problem. that ball joint has to sit in the spindle to seat. i dont believe the washers are going to hold up after time, meaning the taper on the seat of the ball join is going to come loose. i am converting to 94 ball joints. no messing around. i was told by many it is a direct swap. Darius, i have a couple of questions for you. i will email you.

![]() i used the washers cause i was told that the ford fivelug 4wheel disc conv kit used washers to mount the spindle i got my car done today and i dont think there will be any problems i used hardend steel 5/8 washers around $1 a piece and alot less hassle but please post your results on switching the balljoint if its a direct swap in i will prob do it myself down the road
also has anyone used the fox's soft lines with the sn95 calipers it looks to me as if you were to cut the little metal tab off you would be able to use them if any one out there has done this let me know

![]() it has been done. But when you can get sn95 brake lines for 16.00 a piece at the parts store why risk it?

![]() I believe on most it is a direct swap. Otherwise you may have to get a fitting at the parts store. No big deal.
