What Cam for this Stock Setup ??
I am thinking of putting in a cam while my motor is out.
I have basically a stock setup as listed in my sig, w/ a few mods. I am going to have the heads milled .040. And am looking at either a TFS Stage 1 cam, or a E-303???? Any feedback on this?? Will I lose any power down low?? Is there a cam that will keep low end and add some mid range & high. I will change valve springs: ALSO I think I am going to run the Nitrous Express kit at the track. Any input would be great or any other suggeations??? Is it worth a cam swap??? Thanx, LOBE ~~~~ |
Rob, I don't think you will get much from a cam swap right now. I would wait till you get some heads then get it all at once.
The Nitrous Express kit is nice, are you looking at the wet or dry sysytem? I personally am going to a Top Gun N2O kit, they are the only company that makes a plate kit for my Holley. http://www.moxieracing.com/index.htm...itrous%20Oxide |
lobe, put the tfs 1 cam in the motor. its a nice cam for the juice and sounds good too. you didnt say what you have for rockers so i assume their stock. invest in a set of rollers. i would get 1.7 but dont mill the 40 off the heads. theres no need. if you do mill the heads you cant go with 1.7 rockers due to valve/piston clearance. dont wast the money on the heads either. try this setup- 1.7 rockers, tfs 1 cam, stock heads with light exhaust port work not milled, stock intake cut open and ported. along with what you have in you sig itll work great. been doing that one since 90. will put you in the 12s with good driving. oh, a 155 fuel pump and fuel press. reg too.
