Post What do I set the Timing on?

What would be a good setting for my timing with my mods? To set the timing, do you pull that little chip out of the harness coming from the distributor?

You just have to play with it yourself...I can give you a ballpark of anywhere between 10 and 18 or so base timing with the chip pulled, hows that?

You have to set it, drive it, give it more, and if it detonates, back it off...sorry so ambiguous.

that chip is the SPOUT connector...if you don't take it out it won't adjust properly. Also careful not to lose it. I't easy to forget you took it out, then never put it back in.
Start the car, take out the SPOUT, adjust your timing(use 12-14) experiment at the track for anything else, and always use premium) then put the SPOUT back in.....and your ready to rock.
If you forget to put in in...you will run about 5 cars slower than b4.No spark curve at all.

Thanks for the info. The other day I did just that, kept adjusting it, then driving it. I don't know what it is set on b/c I haven't put the light back on it, I was just adjusting it.
