What do I set the Timing on?
What would be a good setting for my timing with my mods? To set the timing, do you pull that little chip out of the harness coming from the distributor?

You just have to play with it yourself...I can give you a ballpark of anywhere between 10 and 18 or so base timing with the chip pulled, hows that?
You have to set it, drive it, give it more, and if it detonates, back it off...sorry so ambiguous. ------------------ 1992 LX:V-1 S-Trim ,Edelbrock 6037 Heads,Cobra Intake,E-303,1.6 Rollers,65MM Holley TB, 75 MM Pro M Mass Air, 190 LPH FP,24 lb injectors,MSD 6A and BTM,BBK equal length shorties,offroad h-pipe,Mac Flowpath Mufflers,Pro 5.0, 3.73's,Motorsport "C" springs,welded subframe connectors,Ponies w/ 225/50 Nitto NT 450's on front,255/50 BFG Drags out back,93 Cobra Spoiler Daily driver 89 Coupe:BBK shorties,offroad,flowturds with dumps,soon to be cyber green |

that chip is the SPOUT connector...if you don't take it out it won't adjust properly. Also careful not to lose it. I't easy to forget you took it out, then never put it back in.
Start the car, take out the SPOUT, adjust your timing(use 12-14) experiment at the track for anything else, and always use premium) then put the SPOUT back in.....and your ready to rock. If you forget to put in in...you will run about 5 cars slower than b4.No spark curve at all. Thanks for the info. The other day I did just that, kept adjusting it, then driving it. I don't know what it is set on b/c I haven't put the light back on it, I was just adjusting it.
