Question ported E7's vs. GT40-P flow numbers ?

just seein if anyone knows where i can come across a flow chart comparing ported stock heads vs. stock or ported P heads, im guessing it wouldnt really be worth the trouble and money over my ported stockers, unless the P's can be ported and really outflow ported E7 heads, thanks guys

Well stock the difference is pretty huge. There was a site I could send you to for stock flow numbers, but now you have to purchase a subscription to view the comparison.

The GT-40p's flow about 195cfm/140cfm out of the box. Your stock E7's a little more than 150cfm/115cfm. Good lightly ported E7's can flow 170cfm or so. Fully wigged out with bigger valves and the works done to them I believe you can get the E7's close to 215cfm intake.

Try that link. Basically a stage 1 port on the GT-40's will match everything you can possibly do to the E7's. Not even changing valve's.

Did you make it to the track this weekend Drew?

Don't you have to get different headers for the P heads? I may be wrong. I think it would be worth it to get a set of P heads and port them out. I considered it, but after seeing the prices everyone was wanting for a set of P heads I decided to stick with the E7's.

nah i didnt go out there, i talked to a guy friday night that said they are done doing the test and tune for the year
i did get to know about 4 of the stangers around here, met up with them where they all hang out infront of kroger, nothing extrememly impressive but still nice cars
then on my way home a guy with a 87-93LX hatch yelled he wanted to race, so we went to some road behind the airport and let it loose for about a 1/4mi and i whooped his *** pretty good, you shoulda seen it, hell you may have heard us if you were outside at work when it happened, about 11:00 or so

D@mn, you've only been in town a couple weeks and already have found the second best drag strip in around! One of these days I'll show you the #1 strip.

I've been out there in front of Krogers a number of times and have yet to meet up with any Stangers. Must be because school is back in. Did you tell them to watch out for the red stang with the big Ford emblem on the back?

nah i forgot to mention it, i didnt think you would be racing your car with the rear end condition.
i did however find a early 90's Camaro to watch out for, I believe its a 92 anniversary (the one with the wing that looks like a 93 cobra wing) its Teal and is in good shape
i was at a light on 3rd street and pulled next to him thinking that if he even tried anything i would whoop him bad, i have NEVER even been close to being beaten by one of these cars, even when i was running 15's
he gives a little bit of a rev so i said ok, i guess i'll let him go to see if he's gonna race then i'll go, I shouldnt have done this, he goes and then i floor it and spin just a little, he's the exact same distance infront of me from about 20mph-80mph when i started to pull on him, just as the front of my car was at his rear tire we shut down because of traffic
i know i could have gotten him with a little bit longer road, but im not making excuses, i actually got beat by one of the "slow" camaro's, maybe he had "noss" though hee hee

these arent e7te #'s I had my D08e 302 heads ported and these were my #'s
210.4cfm int @ .600
167.1cfm exh @ .600
hope that gives you soem hope for the e7te heads they basicly have the same runner design the diff is the combustion chamber size

Watch out for those Terre Haute police Drew. They can be real pr!cks, especially if you are racing LOL. That sounds like the same thing I did when I raced the 2001 LS1. I gave him a car length and kept with him through 2nd. I just started to gain in 3rd but he shut down.

I may be getting a set of AFR's by spring Drew so if you want my stockers I'll make you a deal on them. They have been ported more than yours and have a 3 angle valve job and shaved .03. I'll even throw in the Crane valve springs and rockers for around $400.
