![]() Nope most fox-body stangs came stock with 2.73 gears with a few having the optional 3.08 (5 speed) or 3.27 (auto) gear ratios. 3.73s are real nice gears for the street!

![]() When you are searching for your GT open the door (assuming the gears havent been changed) and look at the sticker. On the right side will be an axle code "AX" under it is the code. M= 273 limited slip, Z=3.08 limited, R=345 limited, E= 327 limited, W=373 limited, K= 355 limited. You will only find M, or Z maybe an E. Happy Hunting. John BTW most 5 speeds have been changed to 373 already. Thats usually the first mod done

![]() Doing a gear swap is not to costly in a stang usually under $500 I would not use the original gear as a means of selecting the right stang, there are far to many other things to worry about, after all even if it has the 3.08's odds are you will swap to the 3.73 ASAP.

![]() Swap out the originals in what ever you buy and go with 4.10's. People say 4.10's are to much gear, but ask anyone who has them.
