what is with the idle
ok guys i have a real problem now i set the timing fuel pressure at 44psi farted aropund with it and it still idles at 2g, then i thought to my self about the vacum lines i took off of the the emmisions stuff that comes off of the smog pump and the egr, how do i stop it from idling so high, to the sell a egr elimantor or am i starting to get retarded. you can run the motor with out the egr right? here is what happens i start the car idles perfect car warms up and the idles at 2g

I am not running an EGR on my motor, nor all that emissions CRAP!!!
I would check to see if you have a vacume leak. Use a can of Brake cleaner and spray it in little areas where the lines and air seals are. If the idle goes up, then that is where your problem is. Typically, vacume leaks don't cause the motor to idle that high. Check to see if your throttle stop is adjusted properly. Check your TPS, and put a volt meter to it. It should read about .99-1.0 Ohms. Last suggestion, put a timing light on your car. Make sure your base timing is between 10 and 14. |
see i think i have a vacum leak do to the egr valve line, i am going to get rid of the egr today and then reset the timing and mess with it again, but it is not the throttle stop, like i said it starts idling at the right at the start and once the egr kicks in when the motor warms up the car starts to idl higher and then reachs the peak of 1800rpms

i was messing around under the hood and i notice because of my egr and my fuel pressure reg the vacum line from the intake to the fuel pressure reg looks pressed tight and looks as if can not get through could that be the problem? i dont have time to fix it i have to go to work.. oh yeah it idles fine until i put in the single plug connector for the timing advance and the the rpms jump up right away
