What injectors with this combo?

I'm planning on going with AFR 165 heads, the Edelbrock intake and maybe the Comp Cams XE266HR cam with 1.7 ratio Roller Rockers and I was wondering if I should go with the 24lb or 30lb injectors. When I rebuild the engine in a year or so I plan to go with a 331 or 347 stroker and I want to replace as few items as possible. I already have the 30lb tube for my 73mm MAS so I wouldn't have to replace that if I can go with the 30lb injectors. But I might be better off going with a bigger MAS anyway. I also have both a 65mm and a 70mm throttle body, should I stick with the 65mm or throw on the 70mm, with these heads, intake and cam? Thaks for any info.....

So you're lookin at .580/.590 lift. 216/224 @.500 plus a little.

If you are planning on a stroker and you want to keep the cam, why not get something with a little more duration and not so much lift? The extra cubes will make the additional duration less of a problem, and you've got to be losing a ton of power lifting the crap outta those valves. How much flycutting will that cam/rocker choice require?

You could run 30lb injectors on your combo okay, but yes, an upgraded MAF beyond the 73mm would be advised, also the 70mm T/B should go on there since you are N/A.

for those wanting to know

XE266HR

.544/.555 216*/224*@ .500 LSA 112, 266*/282*(I think)

Those are the specs with 1.6:1 Rockers.

The guy I talked to at AFR actually suggested the cam. I don't know diddly about cam science so I will rely heavily on whatever advice I can get. I'm not sure the guy at AFR understood where I wanted to go with my car. I'm going to stay street legal, emissions and all, and I want a fairly smooth idle. I'll go with a differen't cam or 1.6 rockers because I do not want to have to fly cut the pistons.

30's will work fine. Your WOT fuel pressure will just have to be set around 32 psi.

What AFR heads are you getting??? 165?? if so the Springs that come with it are Only good to .550 lift so if you do more you need better springs!!!

Definetly get the 30lb injectors, they leave some room to build on...just like you plan on doing. When naturally aspirated go with the bigger MAF and the 70mm T.B.

Thanks for the tips guys. Looks like I'll be going with the 30# injectors and a new MAS, maybe that new C & L 76mm? Or should I jump to the 80mm?

You might want to get 185's with the restroked to a 347

The guy at AFR said it would be no problem for them to machine the 165's I buy now to a 185 later when I stroke my motor. Which is another reason I'm leaning toward the AFR's.

Sweet I did not think of that!!!!!! I might have to some time too.
