What kind of supercharger is best
What kind of supercharger is the best for a 4.6 gt. Vortech, paxton, procharger, or what. And what kind of hp and torque will it make.

I would go with the Vortech A-trim or S-trim. I wouldn't run to much boost because I know they are knowen for melted pistons.

How about powerdyne? they are supposed to be silent and also are self lubricated so they dont require an oil feed.

Aren't you overlooking something??
What about the SVO (or FRPP) blower? It won't give you the top end like a Vortech or Paxton, but you'll have gobs of low-end torque. Which would be nice on a 4.6. |

I would get a Vortech and turn the boost up to about 12 psi. Everyone says this and says that about too much boost. I have been running 12 psi for over 2 months hitting 12 psi everyday and nothing is broken and the car idles like stock. You can break the engine just as easy with 8 psi if it detonates. The SVO is a nice choice, but my only problem is it can't be intercooled. During the Summer after a few blasts, the intake temperature must be through the roof. I plan to add an Intercooler and turn the boost up to have 12 PSI of intercooled boost which will have the car run much more efficient and you can add back timing & lean the fuel mixture to make even more power. We will see how important an intercooler is when the Prochargers start hitting the scene.

I've gotta jump in on the SVO/FRPP vs centrifugal talk.
Eminent18 It's all dependent on how you will drive. Street -SVO/FRPP or SALEEN roots blower Strip -Vortech, Pax etc... How are you going to use your S/C? more than $.02 |
