What shifter does everyone prefer
 

I'm having my T-5 rebuilt and would like to purchase a new shifter while I'm at it. What do you guys with a T-5 prefer? The choices I've narrowed it down to are a Pro 5.0, a Steeda Tri-Ax, a Hurst (not sure which style), or a B&M (unsure of what style). Please let me know what you think of these and why. I cant give any info on the others nut I have the b&m ripper and I lover it but I have never used any of the other shifters

The Ripper and the Pro 5.0 are the 2 that are most popular and you can't go wrong with either one. I have the Pro5.0 in my Mustang Lx

I have the steeda tri-ax and it works great.

I have the Pro 5.0 and I absolutely love it. It was the first thing I put in the car and would definitely do it over again if I had to.
I also don't have experience with the others but that is my .02.

i have zero problems with my Hurst. love it and wont change it for anything yet. have tried the Ripper, PRO, and Mac. i got to say the PRO is much tighter, but i didnt like how "tight" it was.

I have used the hurst and didnt like it, was too short, i have the newer ripper, not the adjustable one, but it is a good shifter, my vote is b&m.

I'm looking into buying a shifter too and have narrowed it down to the Pro-50 and Tri-Ax. I'm almost positive I'm going with the Steeda because my car is a daily driver and it looks like it has a more comfortable shift handle, can anybody vouch for this? I just don't want to pin my hand up to the dash to hit 1st or catch 3rd.

i have used the hurst, b&m, and stock, and the steeda is better than all of them(bolth the hurst, and b&m guys also agreed once i let them play with).

I have a b&m ripper and I love it. It takes getting used to, but once you do, it's great. I have no basis for comparison woth the others, but I hear a lot of good things about the pro 5.0. I personally think that you will like any of them over the stock one, so you'll be happy any direction you take.

I've had a PRO 5 0 on my T-5 for years now and of course, I love it. My hand doesn't hit anything and I never miss a shift. Feels great, too. Quality construction all the way. I added a Cobra leather shift knob to complete the deal.

I'm sure the other shifters (Steeda, Hurst, BBM) are all close in quality so it's probably a toss-up. I vote for the PRO 5 0.

i have the hurst billet shifter and i love it. all good aftermarket shifters have positive bolt stops and some type of centering device.

I have the hurst and i love it... its a short throw and is great for a daily driver .. though i have heard the pro 5.0 getting lots of praise,,, its all personal taste i guess

Another vote for the pro50.

I'd get either the steeda or the pro 5.0. I used to have the hurst billet and it was pretty badass, but I'd probably go with the pro 5.0. The only thing I don't like about the steeda is the aluminum stick, not that I plan on breaking it, I'd just prefer something stronger so wouldn't have to worry about it.

Might as well throw in my two cents...

The B&M Ripper has adjustable load springs. My Steeda does not, nor does the Hurst (I believe). I'm not sure about the PRO 5.0, you might want to ask.

I love my Steeda, but I like the flexability of the Ripper. For what it's worth, the Ripper costs a little more to - my experience seems to be that sometimes you get what you pay for!

I have the B&M Ripperbut was interested in trying the Tri-Ax due to the adjustable height. But one thing is for sure, anything is better then the stock shifter.

I didn't know that the springs on the Ripper are adjustable????? How do you change the load on these guys?
