what should i go with ???
ok i am changing over to carb from injected and this is my set up with the injected Stock shaved heads,f-cam,under drives, ported stock unper and lower intake, 65 thb.
now this is what i wanna go with for the carb set up same heads and cam but with a ed. air gap , and a 650 or 600 ed carb how does that sound ( should i go with a different intake and carb? if so what ) thanks -mike |
You could probably save a few $$ and just go with a plain performer RPM. As far as a carb i have a demon on mine and i love it. I also used to have an edelbrock performer 600 on the car and it held up pretty good too.

roadworrier you think i shouldn't go with an air gap? that i should go with the pper. rpm! have you hear of bad things with the air gap or just not worth the money and do just as good as the per rpm ?
thanks for the replie -mike |
No i actually have an air gap myself but i dont know if its worth the extra money, especially without aftermarket heads.

ok roadworrier its me just logged in my other account, but anyway i was woundering do you think that my car would pass e test if i did change it to carb, its an 88 GT ? i bet the air gap looks better doesn't it?? but then agian who cars what it looks like as long as it goes fast !
Thanks -mike |
The airgap is not really meant for more air. It is designed so that air gets under the runners and thus causing a cooler air charge entering the engine. It is designed after the victor Jr intake with the same concept. As we know, cooler air is usually better, more dense. If the extra 100 bucks doesnt matter, then its a good idea.

It wasnt much price difference here between the 2 but the air gap does give you a little longer runner. As for passing an environmental test i would honestly have no idea. Im sure you could if you knew someone who could really tune a carb. But im not sure myself because we dont have any tests that cars have to pass and by the time they make it here my car wont need it because it is allready a classic. But i would definately just say tune the carb really well and make sure it is all running good.
