Hi,
I haven't done any major mods just yet
(however, I just bought a C&L 73mm MAF),
however, I guess it wouldn't hurt to add
a better ignition, such as MSD 6AL.

Just a guess...

Bye!

Hi there. It doesn't look like anything obvious is missing from your combo, however you didn't mention injector size. What are you looking for? More power? Do you have traction? Better brakes? For a drag car everything looks pretty good to me, do you have a 5 speed (maybe get a shifter if you don't have that) ?

Looks like you need a mass air computer and some 24# or 30# injectors. With that cam/intake/head setup you definately need to get rid of speed density. Do you even have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? With speed density and that those parts, you'd be running extremely lean without adjusting the fuel manually. I would seriously consider getting mass air and some injectors. What does everyone else think?

I'm not sure what size injectors i have. I just bought the car. What is the easiest way to determine what size they are? What steps should I take in getting mass air and losing the speed density?

Also I am going to add a new ignition. It will probably be MSD. Any suggestions?

Injectors are color coded. If the caps where the electrical connector connects are orange, they are 19# (stock) The others are red or blue, but I can't remember which ones which. There are several different flow rates. Conversion kits are usually expensive from parts places. www.stangparts.com has one for like $400 but you could buy the computer for $150 or so used on ebay, then the meter and if it were me, I'd just make the wiring for it. But anyway, to give you an idea what it would cost. You might be able to use the speed density setup by changing your injector size and using an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, but that would be even more difficult than tuning a carb which is why they made EFI in the first place.

Cool

My 30#'s are red......so I'd have to say blue is the 24 #'s.

You dont need injectors. You need to tell us how the car feels, and figure out where it needs more power or whatever you are lacking. THe cam is to big in my opinion, and your not going to make any huge jumps in power unless you add NOS or different heads.

I disagree, I'm running 19# injectors on a speed density motor and I need an adjustable regulator at the least. And I have a stock cam and ported heads. I can almost guarantee with GT40 heads and intake you need more fuel with a speed density car.

You absolutly sure it's speed density? I read elswhere that someone "told" you it was speed density...? Why not verify that one for sure!
In answer to your question, with heads, cam, intake and exhaust, you may want to uncork that puppy with...
65mm throttle body.
7xmm mass air calibrated for 24lbs injectors.
24lbs injectors.
And then keeping it from twisting into a pretzel with...
sub frame connectors.
torque box reinforcment (south side lowers!)
strut tower brace.
Just some thoughts.

What year is your car. If by judging from your name I'd say it's a 92 and unless a complete moron had the car before you, it should be a Mass Air car. If you don't know, look under the hood where the air filter is and follow the hose from it, if there is a silver thing with a black cap on it before the throttle body, than you have Mass Air. If there is just a hose from your air filter to your throttle body, you have speed density. Also, 87-88 cars except for a few 88's were all Speed Density. 89-93 were Mass Air. Hope this helps.
