what size fuel fittings

Don’t want to sound stupid, but for some reason I just can’t comprehend what I need, I want to run braided lines and fittings, from my fuel pump to the carb, it’s a Holley 4150 dp, can some one tell me what size and style fittings I need to fit the carb and fuel pump, it’s an after market factory style mechanical pump on the 85 blocks. And a 4150 holley. db just not sure what fitting is supose to fit the carb and the line, right now i'm running 3/8 but that dosen't
seem to be listed. and i don't under stand how the sizeing works, 4an, 6an,

-6an is 3/8" line. I don't know what size the fittings are on the pump you are referring to. Your holley carburetor is set up for 5/8-18" inverted flare fittings. Which is what size nut is on a 3/8" steel line. Inverted flare fittings are flared 45 degrees. Those -an fittings are flared 37 degrees, so be careful what you order. Your best bet would probably be to call summit and let them set you up with what you need. Most of those guys know their stuff.

I would run a -8 AN line from the tank to the pump, a -8 AN line from the pump to a regulator, and two -6 AN lines from the regulator to the carb. If your pump and regulator were common, then you would need:

Fittings:
Four 3/8-NPT to -8 AN fittings (one at the tank, two on the pump, and one on the regulator)
Two 3/8-NPT to -6 AN fittings (both on the regulator)
Two 7/8-20 -6AN carb fittings (these screw into the bowls)

Line end fittings (for the ends of the hoses):
Four -8 AN fittings
Four -6 AN fittings

Some pumps and regulators require 1/2-NPT fittings rather than 3/8-NPT, so you would need to check first.
