![]() Skinnies are not made for street driving (unless you don't have any turns where you live).....they are only for straight tracks. Why do you want skinnies for street driving anyway? If you want smaller tires upfront, go w/ 175's.

![]() Yeah the 3.5" like I have come with labels that state FOR DRAG USE ONLY. I have run them for 5 years now with only one problem, I had bought the fronts from a friend and the one had a little dent to the bead, it fianlly cracked I assume from all the street driving. I replaced the rim and haven't had any issues. The 5.5" Weld would make a better skinny, but I like the look and weight difference of my 3.5". I run P165/15 tires on my 15" x 3.5" Draglites.

![]() Hey Rick, your car looks fudging cool man!! As for skinnies I run 15x3.5 centerline convo-pros with 165-15's. I used to run MT sportsman pros but they wear out fast. I drive my car everywhere from Santa Monica to Las Vegas. No problems yet. Just remember to ease it around corners and don't race anyone through curvy streets.

![]() I run the Weld 15x3.5 on the street all the time. It has full drag suspension anyway so pizza cutters are not going to hurt the cornering. The last picture in my sig shows a good shot of them.

![]() Same here. 15 x 3.5 and 165/15 on my 69 with no problem. Although I only drive it on the weekends and when it's not frickin 100 degress outside. I have taken it on several 100 mile cruises though and no problems.

![]() I run 15X5.5 Centerline AutoDrags. With 205/60 BFG T/A's. They might not be as skinny as you are wanting, but if you put big enough meats on the back they will look pretty darn skinny. I have 15X8.5s on back with 295/50s. They make the fronts look tiny. Take a look.

![]() I have been running 165r15 tires with 3 1/2 draglites for the past 3 yrs with no problems,had some recent pictures taken also of the front-end but somehow they got lost,but gonna take some more anyways

![]() I have seen several stangs on street with skinnies but what kinda fun is that? I personally like to have the widest thing to fit my rim and can't understand why you would drive a sports car around on tires meant for a toyota tercel just to gain tenth of a second. Can't see tht being a factor in street driving and it seems alot more dangerous to be doing speeds like that without traction and what about hydroplaning. I prolly sound like my dad but just thought I'd say somethin...hope you find what ya lookin for

![]() Skinnier tires actually do better in rain and snow because there's more pounds per square inch pushing down because there's less contact patch to distribute the weight. As long as the tires have siping for rain, there should be no problems with hydroplaning. The 245's on the back of my mustang are kinda iffy in the rain and can feel them lift up a little (hydroplane) when i hit a puddle on the freeway going 70mph (they have 9/32" tread left too, so they're not even close to bald). My car used to have 195/75R14 tires stock and those things wouldn't hydroplane at all, but it was easier to spin them if i accelerated hard, especially in the rain. Another bad thing about wide tires is they catch the grooves in the road and make the car wander more. The plusses of course are better braking at the point of locking the tires up, and much better handling around corners, but chances are if you have really soft drag racing suspension, taking corners fast is almost suicide whether you have wide tires or not.

![]() Heck, I don't have skinny tires other than for looks. So what PSI does everyone run their 165/15s at. They look flat if you run them at 30psi. I have heard to go ahead and run them at 40. IS that safe.
