What is the stock compression........

I used to know the answer to this question, but anyway....What's the stock compression on a 91 5.0 HO?

shadowblue89 05-11-2002 03:30 PM

This should be correct, somebody correct me if i'm wrong.
stock compression is 9.1:1 on the 91' 5.0 HO mustang

Barrfight 05-11-2002 03:34 PM

Thank you!:D

Close...Compression ratio is 9.0:1 (nominal).

PKRWUD 05-11-2002 04:30 PM

I'm afraid I have some bad news for you guys. While the advertised nominal c/r was 9.1:1, when you added the space taken up by the head gasket, as well as the piston crowns mild dish and the four valve notches, the real c/r is 8.8:1. To bring it back up to an honest 9.1:1, you would need to have the head surfaced .020".

Take care,
-Chris

Chris, you never cease to amaze me, I saw on T.V. once................

oops!:D

shadowblue89 05-11-2002 04:47 PM

I agree. Leave it to Chris and you are going to get exactly what you asked for. Of course you will get the little bit of extra's along with it.:D

PKRWUD 05-12-2002 03:24 AM

Boy, I missed out on people being nice to me today. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself.

Thanks.

I think.

Take care,
-Chris
