What to tap for Explorer intake?
Could someone tell me what has to be tapped on the Explorer intake so it can be installed on a Fox?

If you compare the lower explorer intake to your stock one, you'll see that the #5 runner has a sensor in it and the Explorer doesnt.
This is what you need to drill and tap a hole for, I'm not sure of what size tap it is but you can figure that out after you pull the sensor out of your stock one. I believe the sensor is the air charge temp sensor or ACT. I could be wrong though... good luck with it, you'll love the intake (if you have any other mods that is) |
I was also thinking of getting a 73 mm C&L MAF to go with it?

Go for a 76mm. If you want a C&L then go for the one with the aluminum intake tube that comes with it, looks like a nice piece.
What are all of your mods so far? with a 13.7@100 you must have been hooking up fairly well, what 60ft time did you have on that run? oh yah, your right, fart tips ARE for fags :) |
My mods are b303, 1.7s, 70mmTB, pulleys, Crane Fireball, full exhaust, 1.5 inch steeda springs, 3.55s and Quick Times(slicks).
R/T .578 60' 1.94 1/4 13.70 MPH 100.21 It's not bad, but the lowered suspension really killed my times. I'm hoping the intake and MAF will give 20 hp and get me in the mid to low 13s. |
If you've got a die grinder then rip those heads off and hog them out. I picked up about 3-4 tenths with the addition of the intake and porting my heads.
|
i wish i could but i use the car to much, i don't have time to port the heads.
