I forgot to mention...It's a daily driver(in the spring at least...garaged for the winter) so street racing tires...

Kumho Ecstas are a great choice. They have a great treadwear, nice tread pattern, and they stick really good. It only takes about 20min driving to get them nice and soft. They are cheap too. I think 255/40s go for $125

Falken!

They hook like crazy and they look awesome! I am posting a pic of my 275/40/17.

well

so far the bfgoodrich's have held up.i have a couple of buds that use the same tire and there happy with them for durability, try a 275/40h, the only draw back is there a hard tire so launching is hard without spinning.

I have the BF Goodridge Comp T/A Radial tires (not the drag radial) and I'm not thrilled with them. They are great for a long lasting tire, but as far as drag (street or track), I'd opt for a Nitto drag radial. I've heard a lot of good reports with them. Long life and unmatchable drag performace. Some people I've heard lay down 1.7 second 60' times with these tires.

HEY, I went Toyo Proxes T1-S 245 45 17"'s AFTER my FALKEN blew out on me at 110 km/h.. They weren't z-rated Falkens, and they sucked, so if you go Falken, please go Z-rated or don't buy them.. They just aren't stiff enough for high speed driving !

venumus93 12-14-2001 08:37 PM

I've got the falken ZIEX Z-rated 245/45 17's & like them, got a 2.22 60' time on the track. Cool looking, too! I want to put stickier tire son next though to lower my 60' times....thinking nitto's for my 17" rims, but I have an old couple of 15" rims(10-hole) that i may put the 'drag' tires on....My tire man said the Kumho's are the best way to go on the street right now! Good luck! later!
