![]() Look on the differential cover, there is a tag under one of the bolts. It has the gear ratio on it. They came with 2.73, 3.08, and very few had 3.27 gears. Just get you a set of 3.73 for the 8.8 and have them installed. You will be pleased. I didn't look to see if you had an auto or stick, but with the auto you would rather have the 4.10s.

![]() www.buyfordmotorsport.com has 3.55, 3.73, and 4.10 gears for $139. That's where I got my 4.10's
If you've got a V-8 fox body it's got a trac-lok rear-end. It's probably just worn out. You can pick up a trac-lok rebuild kit with new clutches for like $80 bucks. Stock gears for a 5-speed are 2.73's with optional 3.08's. Auto's came with 3.08's and optional 3.27's

![]() Use the calculator here on mustangworks.com and figure out what gear set you can live with. I have a TKO and I'm running 4.30 with NO problems. I don't spend alot of time in first gear, but I don't spend alot in 5th either. "Don't fear the gear."
You can find a rebuild kit for your posi on ebay for $60 from mustangwarehouse.com (or just go to their site) comes with the clutches, plates, friction modifier (we call it whale jizz), new lock bolt, and instructions. If you're swapping a center section out of a truck or Exploder, be careful! Stang's have 28 spline axles, truck and Sploders have 31 spline. The posi rebuild kit is the same for both though.
