What Type Transmission
I have a 68 Mustang, 302, but it doesn't have the original transmission. Does anyone know how I can find out what year, make, and model it came from. All I know is it's a C-4 and I can see the part # on the side of the case?

well there are basically 2 types or c4's out there from ford the one with the dip stick in the oil pan and the one with the dip stick in the housing. oil pan one is pre 69 while the other is 70 and beyond other changes came to the body in different years but deep down they are all basically the same from what I know. I would recomend the one with the dip stick in the housing for your stang because it gives you a little bit of more room to work in. If anyone out there knows a little more please let me know also. I'm always in search of new knowlege
