![]() I ran my car after 4.10 gears headers offroad h pipe ram air underdrives flomasters and it ran 14.28@94.3 mph I put the timing to 12 degrees and a trickflow intake street and tfs stage 1 cam in it and still only ran 14.18@95.1 with a 1.999 60 ft
For some reason the car makes no power past 5000 Rpm but i go through the traps at 5500 RPM It is a 1995 GT AND SLOW Help Thanks ------------------ 95 Mustang gt tfs stage1 cam,MSD distributor,MSD Coil,Ram air,Underdrives,BBK shorties,BBK off road H pipe,Flowmaster 2 chamber exhaust,Hypertech chip,4.10 gears.Status,still hates his car Best time 14.28 Best MPH 96.8 Best 60' 2.14 spinning 1 1/2 gears away going through traps in 4th at 5200 RPM |

What kind of fuel pressure do you have?? And are you running 12* and a chip??? that could be like 16* timing. I would dump the chip...it should still pull hard to about 5500. 4.10's alone put my notch in the 13.80-13.90's w/ trap speed around 100. ![]() It will NOT pull up there with stock heads.
Your combo is mismatched at this point. The cam is the last part of the combo that's necessary. The stock HO cam has put people into the 12's for years. Now, the stock heads/intake need work to do it. You've got an intake that will flow to beat hell, a much more aggressive cam, and an exhuast that will pump a ton of flow. It's kind of like getting a hose, a big *** water pump, putting a brake line fitting the in middle before the sprayer and wondering why you don't spray a ton of water out. The heads are the weakest link in the engine, and since they are the most expensive to replace, people try to get by without working them, or replacing them. Unfortunately, they are the most important part of your combo. Do you have a T/B yet? The Street Heat intake will be somewhat restricted by a 60mm t/b. Do you have the stock MAF sensor? To optimize your intake system you need to run a larger unit, the stock 70mm unit isn't a really good base for making tons of power. In all seriousness, picking up a set of TFS heads could easily net you 80+hp with that combo. I hope to god you still don't have the factory fuel pump on that thing. If you do the fuel pump itself will limit you to somewhere in the area of 260hp or so. |

![]() I have stock ported heads but i see they are not good and i need better ones it is a 5-speed car andthe 1.999 60 ft was done on goodyear regular street tires with the stock intake on the car last week launching at 1400 rpm. but on my scanmaster it shows the computer pulling the timing back to 27 degrees and a ford tech said the computer is designed to pull timing through the massair readings and somebody on this site should be able to help me with that . my buddies 95 cobra wont pull over 5K and shows timing at 29 degrees I think pro m makes something for this and brothers has it in their catalog but i dont have one here to read thanks for the help guys.

![]() well if your car wont make power above 5000 then shift between 5000 and 5100, i tried this on a friend's car with an intake/cam with ported stock heads and ran a few tenths faster shifting at 5000, you really do need heads though, i'd put the stock cam back in until you do get some heads, it will probably benefit you

![]() Got Heads on and the car pulls good but not well after 5000 my scanmaster says my timing is pulled back to 24 degrees from 36 degrees this car keeps pulling the timing out it always has and my freinds 95 cobra is doing the almost the same with the timing is there something else i should know about with the computer. I tossed the chip it was junk after the car was modded but everybody says these cars had a not so performance minded computer.

thats putting it lightly!! THEY ARE JUNK!! Get a custom chip from JMS. It will be the best money you ever spent. Most people dont believe me when I tell them what I gained with my JMS chip in my 94, so I'll leave that alone now. Get one and you wont be sorry. andy |
