![]() My car dies every now and then. It runs out of gas. I did the following for a test.
1. set the float levels 2. installed a new fuel pump (6.5 psi 3. Installed a glass fuel filter I drove the car for about 15 minutes then it bucked and stalled, the fuel filter was bone dry. Whats is my next step?

![]() Since you put on a new pump and filter,I suggest you try cleaning the lines out. One question, does your car have an inline filter on the rail close to the tank? If so that may also be clogged. I would replace that filter anyway. To clean out the lines. Take the end off the new filter you put on, take the hose end off the filter near the end of the car, Blow air from the front to the back either with your mouth (becareful it tastes like crap) and reinstall the hoses. If that doesnt work I would suggest pulling the tank and checking to see how dirty it is inside. If its real nasty and rusty, you can either get a cleaning and sealing kit from Eastwood Company or buy a new tank. If you blow air through the lines remember to take the line offe the filter, you cant blow air through it so dont try. You give your self an anuerism before you blow through that thing.

![]() The only things that come to mind right now are either the filter is in backwards or there is possibly something wrong with the fuel pick-up in the tank. There may be some crap floating around in your tank that is plugging off the pick-up screen. A fuel line that is collapsing on the suction side is another possibility.
