Wheel Studs Installation
Hey all,
I started to press in some new wheel studs where the axel is out of the rear end. I used the "washers" method of putting on a bunch of washers and a old lug nut and pull the studs through until they seat. The only problem is that how in the world do I stop the axel from rotating when I apply the force to pull the studs through. Is there a special tool or am I doing something wrong. Thanks again! |
For $2 in/out, I had a machine shop press fit mine. If they screw up, its their new stud...

Ok will try that. Hey what kind of lug nuts do you use with those long studs?
|
I just used the stock small "castle" (or whatever its called) nuts.
THey have a smaller head, and a bigger "wedge" to them. Kinda like a mushroom shape if you know what I mean. I got them from Pep Boys for $2/2 ($1 each) unlike dealership wanted like $2.50 each. |
