![]() It maybe time to change your tranny fluid. Mine was sticking a while back, then I changed it with some synthetic fluid and it fixed the problem

![]() I had that problem, but my trans was shot. I'd change the fluid like Cyberstang says and see how that goes.

![]() topless, it could be also that your clutch cable is out of adjustment, making it harder to select and shift gears. Is the clutch picking up right off the floor board if so than you should invest in an adjustable clutch quardrant and cable. the stock quardrant is plastic and gets stipped out overtime causing your cable to be out of adjustment. hope this helps. good luck

![]() Do you have a firewall adjuster for the clutch cable? If you do you can screw it out a little bit until it shifts smooth. I would also check the cable itself to make sure it is not stretched or frayed.

![]() I've had hard shifting into 1st and Reverse in all 5 speed mustangs i've owned and my GT used to do that, until I changed the clutch and put in an adjustable clutch quadrant. It now EASILY goes into every gear. I'd highly recommend getting an adjustable clutch quadrant....much better feel and shifting.

![]() Ya, I was talking to someone tonight about it. I got in my car, and w/ out it running, the gears shifted smooth and easy w/ no clutch. Guess I have not payed that much attention to the clutch itself. Seems like I"m having to put more pressure on it then i'm used to after messing w/ it. Like its harder to push down, more resistance. He said it could be my pressure plate, or the cable itself.. I Put the shifter in MYSELF, so I KNOW its not that!
![]() I'm due for an oilchange. Guess When I do the Quick Lube thing, i'll def. make sure they check it out. (fluid) IT BETTER not be my transmission....THAT I dont need..BTW: I just turned over 105K......... ![]()
