Lowering a Conv. GT anyone done this one?
I'm taking the drop springs out of my lx and putting them in my GT Conv. ...., but the other day I noticed that if you order new drop springs it specifies a different part # ???? Does anybody have a Idea why? ... Is it because the drop-top weighs more?

I believe the springs are different...I ordered the Edelbrock springs to lower mine 1 1/2 inches and it was a piece of cake.
I dont think that the weight of the car has anything to do with the springs being different. It has something to do with the suspension. P.M. me if you need any help. Good luck Later,

My understanding is that both the GT convertible and hatchback have the same suspension excepting the k-member and some support braces- the different spring rates for the vert are due to the extra weight this car is carrying... furthermore, you might notice that most manufacturers do not carry high spring rates for the vert., this is because the vert has a weak chassis in comparison to the hatch, and a very high spring rate would result in twisting of the chassis.
