Post Where to get power for gauges?

I hooked up two gauges to a Gauge Cage in the A/C vent. Everything is set up but the power for the gauge lights. Where do I tap into to get them to light up when the lights are on only?

Thanks for the help

Find a dash light wire and splice into it. There should be a light wire for the A/C controls right there, so you won't have to run a long wire.

Use a DMM and find out which whire is controled by the rheostat. Thats what i did, and it works fine(4 years and still going). For ground, splice all the wires together and use an existing mounting screw or a new self tapping screw and secure the ground to the frame(the stereo bracket actually has a stud to use a nut with a star washer) Just remember the ground must be 100% or you will have major problems.

Chipdog-
The A/C light works well, as does the ashtray light.

Patrick-
Hey fellow Ventura County Person, I always recommend finding a circuit at the fuse box that is switched when the key is "on", but you could use a meter to find a wire outside of the fuse box. Fused would be better, though.

Take care
