Where is the IAC Sensor and how do i adjust my idle speed?
 

I need to find out where the IAC sensor is? I am trying to stop a bad stalling problem when i am at low rpms coming to a stop. When I push in the clutch the rpms just fall really hard past idle and stall the car. I am going to clean the throttle air bypass valve as suggested on this site, clean the throttle body with intake cleaner, try to find any vaccum lines that are leaky. Also my heater coolant supply lines aren't there, i don't know if that has anything to do with it, you know the two connections on either side of the throttle body. My mechanic friend says mustang guys take them off for better performance but I don't know anything about fuel injection or anything accociated with it so I am in the dark on all that. Thanks for any info. I'll be so glad when my Performer RPM intake and Performer 600 carb in mounted in place of all that fuel injection stuff, lol

IAC is mounted at a 45 deg angle on the front of the EGR spacer. The idle can be adjusted on the lower-rear of the TBody. You should see a small screw with a spring on it). It should say on the TBody which way to turn, I dont know off hand.

Yea, some guys block off those coolant lines. Their purpose is supposedly to cool off incoming air, but the air probably isn't that hot coming through the TB and those lines may actually end up warming the air coming through. That is the thinking that leads people to block them off. In reality, it probably makes little difference and would have a negligible affect on performance. That being said though, mine are blocked off:D .

Oh, and these lines should have no effect on your stalling problem. Cleaning that IAC valve would be the first place to start. And as mentioned before, the screw under the throttle body will adjust your idle by changing the stopping position of the butterfly valve in the TB.

I forget now what are you "supposed" to use the clean the IAC. Carb cleaner, brakleen, t-body cleaner?

What he said. Always avoid using carb cleaner on a fuel injected motor. I hear bad bad things about doing that. TB cleaner is just as good....it just takes a little more to get the job done thats all.

If the rpms don't come back up when you pop the clutch it sounds like the IAB valve is stuck or not working at all, so I'd check that out before you start with the idle. Cause if you screw with the idle speed, you might need to readjust the TPS base voltage accordingly.
