Default Where is PCV valve?

Trying to do process of elimination on my rough idling problem - new fuel filter, PCV valve etc.. I cannot seem to find the PCV valve on my 88GT stang with EFI - can somebody tell me where it's located? Don't have a full manual and I looked on the volve covers and didn't see it..

It's in the lower intake manifold. Very back dead center.

Man - I was looking under the upper intake towards the back and didn't see it.. Can the PCV valve be replaced without taking the upper intake off?

yes, it can. just find where the upper goes into the lower intake with your hand in the back of the intake. if you go straight down and towards the back you should be able to feel the pcv valve and the hose that plugs into it. It is a tight squezze between the intake and firewall but you can get it. you just have to work blind. good luck

You don't have to take anything off to get to it. You just have to reach back behind the intake and pull it out.

That picture is on a Holley intake...But you can see the hole that it will plug into. That is on the firewall side of the engine. You just have to reach back behind the upper intake and yank it out...should have a large hose coming out of that hole and the PCV valve is attached. It sits in a little rubber grommet. (spelling?)

It's such a pain in the *** but as soon as you find it, it'll be a breeze to replace! get a flashlight and look back there you'll see it!

One the drivers side of the upper intake there are two vaccum hose and one is running to the front of the upper and one is running to the back of the lower intake. Follow the the hose that goes to the back to the lower intake. When you get the the end of the hose pull up and the pcv should pop right out of the lower intake. IF you can, take that hose off the side of the upper intake that goes to the pcv. There's a little screen that the pcv sits in that should be removed with some needle nose pilars and cleaned with carb cleaner.
