where to start tuning?

i have a 349 with worked afr 205's, .700inch solid roller, roots blower, 950dp and big shot nitrous plate...

compression is 13:1,
running 11lb of boost,
8600 rpm shift point,
and 225 shot on top of it all...

so where do you start tuning this thing....??? the first day at the track will be this SATURDAY.. i'm looking for low 9's out of the box.. tranny consist of 5500 stall, c4, rev. manual vb, etc etc...

this is a street legal car and needs to keep some type of streetablility so i'm keeping it gas insted of alky... so it will be running off 116..

suggestions?

wow

11lbs. of boost on a 13:1 compression?? That sounds scary. I'm sure you've done your research though...cause your combo sounds impressive. Sorry I don't have any tuning tips...as your motor is at a different level than my street/strip stang. ;) I didn't know you could throw that much juice at a blown motor either. Can't wait to hear how it runs. Keep us posted.

actually my system will not shoot less than the 225 shot.. but the progressive controller comes in handy when trying to launch it on ETstreets.

i have a custom carb for the blower but considering trying to tune another one i had before the blower..

so far the testing is going good.. and if everythign goes well i'll let josh (aka: tireburner) take a ride with me.

roots boost and compression are easier to controll than centrifugal.. (is that spelled right?)

anyway.. the shot really helps with detnotation..

when this motor goes it's gonna be time to start thinking of turning it into an all out race car with a bigblock i guess.. but it's kinda fun having a 302 based motor running with the big boys around here.

Brad, I'd just keep that carb you have on the blower. It's already tuned pretty good for the blower. It should have a pretty good baseline. At least better than the carb that you've been using.

Give me a call, I'll hook up with you at the track, I wanna see that thing make some passes.:)

-Josh, aka the tireburner

p.s. I bet you got the blower because you were scared my LX was gonna whoop your ***;)....................if it ever runs again:(

shredded the blower belt on the 2nd pass.. but the first pass was worth it :) car went really really well.
