Default Help me choose the right cam

I have the whole Trick Flow set up (heads, street heat intake etc.) EXCEPT for the cam! The Stage 1 cam is on back order on summitt up untill 6-9-02! The engine is apart is just waiting for the cam to go in and I cant wait that long, I need my car. So what would be a cam equally good or better? Im not trying to spend too much, dont have too much left on the credit card. I would like to order within the week. Thanks guys, i know some of you will come through.

The steeda #18 camshaft is somewhat similiar to the stage 1 steeda. Haven't heard of anyone using this cam with the TFS products but it looks like it would work well. Check it out at www.steeda.com

, theres only 5000 cams out there for the 5.0 liter ford. Pick one thats similiar to what you want, and be done with it. The ford cams are cheap like the trick flows, but youll spend more on a Comp. cams cam.

Crane also has a ton of 5.0 liter cams.

You can find one of many cams with similar specs. to the TF stage 1, if thats what you want.

I think you should either look into a custom cam or maybe one of Comp Cams Xtreme cams. I have heard that the Xtreme cams are awesome on our cars. Good luck.

If you haven't bought it look at the anderson cams.

I love them if you are not trying to pass emissions get one.

They run a bit more expensive but very worth it.

If you are going N/A by a cam with a N (in front) or something similar they have very good descriptions.

The b2 or b3 are the way to go on the tfs heads. Use the b2 with the 1.7 rr or the b3 with the 1.6 rockers they end up being the exact same thing. Only use this cam if you are going to spray or get a blower. I got this cam on N/A setup and it did awesome but the true potential is with boost.

Call Danny Biggs at the service center he is a cool guy and will sit and chat with you on your combo and try to get you the best thing you need. 217-935-2384

Lots of other Goodies...
Just bought a nice forged 331 stroker kit for a new block that should be ready to take 650hp of abuse.

Well, the car is still my daily driver and when I called AFM they said they wont tell me the numbers (lift etc.) on the cam. I dont want to get my self into some cam I know no information about. Anyone have a similar set up as mine running one of their cams?

i know that everyone else says that the e303 cam is a piece of junk, but i really like the driveability of mine and it makes decent power. it also wont make your car rumble like a stock car. just some input i thought might be helpful

AFM is a bunch of losers. Like thier cams are so special as to not reveal the numbers...lol. They have the same cookie cutter cams as everyone else.

Just get a comp. cam. catalog and pick one that is what you want. The extreme enery line is popular in the stangs.
