Question Who makes the best hoods???

Sometime in the near future I plan on purchasing a 2.5 in cowl hood, i know cervinis makes the best ones, but they are rather expensive. Do any of you know where I can get the same quality of hood for a cheaper price???

Cervini's is not expensive, and unless you want some cheap
hood that isn't going to fit right, then why get a cheap hood? You get what you pay for. I'd go with Harwood or Cervini's, and Cervini's is the cheapest between the two. You can't get the same quality hood at a cheaper price, that is why some hoods are cheap, because they are cheaply made.

I like my HO Fibertrends hood. Although I didnt buy it new so I cant tell you what it looked like originally. If you want your hood to look nice without alot of work, dont buy a cheap one! My Harwood decklid came in last week and I'm pretty disappointed with it. I think I was expecting too much though, I was hoping that it would be straight. Instead, the whole thing will need skim coated. I would post pictures of it, but I dont think that the waves would show up.

1Bad89, the only thing Harwood has going for them is that their hoods are light. They are too expensive and you have to trim the hell out of them to get them to fit even halfway decent.

Cervini's IS expensive, but they are the best quality.

I recently got a hood from Design Concepts and the "bang for the buck" is much better than Cervini's. The fit and finish is suprisingly excellent for the money. I'll only have to trim a tiny bit from one corner, then block it just to make sure its smooth, prime and paint. It was only $250 compared to almost $400 for Cervinis. A friend of mine who has owned BOTH a Cervinis and Harwood hood said he would never buy either again after he saw the quality of my hood for the price.

Hope this helps

I got mine from Motion Performance. The fit and finish was great, and the only trimming I had to do was at the back edge. Wouldn't have had to trim at all for it to fit, but I took about 1/16" off to get it perfectly even.

one complaint about Cervini....too damn of a good hood..hood flew up(my fault) and took out the cowl really bad behind it and the hood only got minor scratches

Hey toughlilhunny

I just noticed you're from Omaha. What year and model is your Stang?

I have a cincinatti composites hood. It is cheap and fits better than my stock hood. No cutting or shaving. Just sanded and painted it in our garage. I put it on saturday. I have had a million compliments so far. Best of luck.
