I had heard that there was no cooling issues with the R block. But I'm sure someone else will know for sure.

yea there def isnt but the new dart block is a full 4 bolt main design and it looks like it has water passages..can anyone confirm/deny

both are siamese

both are siamese, the strong point of the Dart block is it has what is called "Billet Splayed" maincaps which I guess makes it stronger, I always been under the impression a 4-bolt is a 4 bolt but some manufactures word things differently to sound better than the competition.

You can't go wrong with either block, but you can get a bigger bore with the Dart block, than a R302 block, the Dart is capable of 4.185 bore I think the max on the R302 block is around 4.155.

Now when you get them sonic checked, x-rayed and the full blue-printing who knows how big both can go.

but a Dart block does have water passages right..thats what the guy told me who i am buying it from..he said it is 100% streetable??

Both the R and Dart blocks have water passages. Both blocks are siamese bore, which means that there are no water passages BETWEEN the bores. Both of them are perfectly fine for the street; both are 4-bolt mains, and both are about 45-60 lbs heavier than a stock block.

ah i seee said the blinde man..i have no idea why coast high talked me out of a r302 for a sportman..he said the r block will over heat if you get stuck in traffic?

thanks jeff
