whos got a light car?
my ex 4 banger notch will be weighed the first time i go to the track...anytnig that doesnt need to be there isnt but retains a full interior(minus sound dededning)..any guestimates..im saying 2900..c-4 and cage will take my weight up a little:D

Without a detailed "gut" list, a guess would be 3000 even.
I stripped the living SHID-A-RAMA out a 87 coupe and it weighed 2800. |

My car is gonna be light, the interior is totally gone dwon to metal. Stainless dash panel, poly seats, no rear seat and carpet like goes on a speaker box on the walls, floor, and cieling of car. 8 pt bar, 5 gal fuel cell, battery to the back. no inner fenders, no wiring harness, no extra anything. If it can be un bolted or ripped off it comes off. Full of fuel, and me in the seat its been estimated at 2750 lbs. Well have to see when it gets done.

One of my friends 91' coupe with a strocked 351 weighs 2610 lbs without driver. If it was removeable, it got taken out. The doors were removed and all the bracing inside was removed, no back seat, both driver and passenger seats are lightweight racing seats, K-member, fuel cell, all sound dampening removed, weld wheels, powerglide transmission. I can't remember everything, but I do know the car was extremely light when it was stock compared to other coupes we've run. The car does have an 8 point cage in it too.
And its not a drag car, he drives it 2 or 3 days a week and about every weekend. |
